OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Since the beginning of Operation Christmas Child in 1993, countless individuals have shared their passion for the project and inspired families, groups, and churches to pack shoe box gifts. These “Project Leaders” create opportunities for people across the United States to touch the lives of children and families around the world and to bring hope through the Good News of Jesus Christ. Below is a gateway to an extensive collection of ideas and resources to support you in encouraging others to join this powerful global outreach.

 Get started now---
1. Shoe Box. 
     Use an empty shoe box (TCC has shoe boxes) or a small plastic container the size of the shoe box.    You can wrap the box (lid separately), but wrapping is not required.  Most importand, pray for the child who will receive your gift. 

2. Boy or Girl
    Deternime whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and child's age category:  2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. 

3.  Fill with Gifts
    Fill the box with a variety of gifts that will bring delight to a child.  Suggestions;  school supplies - pens pencils and sharpeners, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculator, coloring and picture books, etc:  toys - small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, Etch A Sketch, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), Slinky, etc.:  Hygiene items - toothbrush, toothpaste, mild bar soap (in plastic bag), comb, washcloth, etc,;  T-shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries).

4.  Drop off date
    Drop off date for your box or items will be 6 November, 2011 at the Tombstone Cowboy Church.

5.  A donation of $7.00 will assist with the shipping costs and if you log in to the website: www. samaritanspurse.org/index/php/occ you can download a label to put on your box, that when scanned, you can log on to follow where your box is going.

OUR GOAL IS TO DONATE 50 BOXES FROM TOMBSTONE COWBOY CHURCH!!!!

Used or damaged items, war related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures, chocalate or food, out of date candy, liquids or lotions, medications or vitamins, breakable items such as snoglobes or glass containers, or aerosol cans.
